She may look a shell of her former self, but Tammy Faye Baker-Messner is still full of spirit.
The evangelist and Surreal Life alum recently ended her cancer treatments, and in a two-part interview set to air Thursday and Friday on Entertainment Tonight, she says, “When they [the doctors] said there’s nothing more we can do, for just about a minute I felt sorry for myself, had my little pity party. Then I said, ‘I’ve got somebody bigger than the doctors, I know the Lord, Jesus Christ, and he can do something for it.’ He’s the only one that can, and so I just trust Him every day.”
With the help of her daughter, Tammy Faye is being cared for in her North Carolina home, though she’s faded down to just over 60 lbs and says she’s in constant pain.
“I have really wonderful days, and I have really bad days,” says Baker-Messner. “I would say I’m in pain almost 100 percent of the time. My back hurts, so I had to go to a wheelchair. And I have a very bad tummy all the time.”
So sad. Yet she’s charging along.
Our thoughts are with you, Tammy!
